Abstract

The article reports the results of the final degree work of the Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at the National University of San Martín, Argentina, carried out by the authors. It reviews the importance of intervention from a social paradigm during occupational therapy practices based on the Diversity Model. It elaborates an analysis from the perspectives of occupational therapists and users through stories shared in interviews, with the purpose of finding out how it is possible to articulate the philosophy promoted by the Diversity Model with Occupational Therapy practices. For this purpose, the axes of analysis were the idea of the human being, the focus of intervention and the professional role in occupational therapy practices. The results reveal a series of important aspects that are able to contribute to Occupational Therapy practices within the social model, questioning models aligned to hegemonic medicine and making an invitation to continuous critical reflection.
